More articles on Chicago Fine Art coming soon!

Hello everyone!

Hope your holiday season is filled with joy and reconnections to friends and family.

Just a little note about my writings on fine art in the city of Chicago and surrounding suburbs. As of November 2010, I will no longer be publishing to examiner.com. The company has changed their policies regarding payment and copyright.

In the future, those detailed articles on our Chicago artists, galleries, and events as well as visitors to the Chicago land area will be available here on my blog. For anyone wanting copies of previous articles now unavailable at examiner, please contact me directly at artist@flyngypsyarts.com. I will need the article title, artist or exhibit name.

Articles will continue to be promoted via social networks. Projected release for the new content is early 2011. Thank you for your readership and for supporting the arts!

Sincerely,

Jessica Kronika

Bases for movable works include pedestals, hanging fixtures, and custom built easels.                 Flat works painted directly onto the wall are generally referred to as murals. These wall paintings...

Design consultation Working with an artist or designer for an in-home or business consultation provides you with individual attention and the personal touch. Once you have a general idea of what kind of custom art work you would like it is time to schedule your consultation. A design consultant will help you to select art that is an exact fit for your space. Some aspects of the consultation include color matching and placement of art as a focal point or an accent. The room’s traffic will define the form of the art that is presented, as well as determine the installation accessories and protective finishes required. Your consultant will make a protective need assessment based on these factors.                 So, now that you have scheduled a design consultation what can you expect? The design consultant will have conducted a phone or email screening to get an idea of the project, including size of the art...
